What’s better than a decadent night out on the town with good company and even better food? Discovering new dishes is one of the many delights of life, especially when you pair it with the right glass of wine or a crisp cocktail.

Below, we’re going to relive some of our favorite moments at some of the finest establishments in America. From New York to the Deep South, we hope you’ll try your hand at any one of these restaurants throughout your travels someday. Off we go!

New York, New York

Not many people would argue with you if you said New York was the food capital of the country, if not the world. Flavor sensations unite in this mecca, delivering delightful dishes from every continent. One of the obvious starting points is Chinatown. You might enjoy some dim sum at Joe’s Shanghai. Then, there are three staples that no other city can replicate: bagels, pizza, and deli sandwiches. For the deli sandwiches, try Katz’s, made famous by Meg Ryan in When Harry Met Sally. With 74 Michelin-starred restaurants, you’d have to go out of your way to have a bad meal in this bustling metropolis.

Savannah, Georgia

Since she’s a true Southern Belle, Savannah knows a thing or two about hosting a fine feast. After a day of shopping on Broughton Street, you can head to Circa 1875 for some savory steak frites. There’s also The Olde Pink House, known to be haunted by Mr. Habersham himself – but, boy, do they make a mean cocktail to accompany their 5-star dishes. When in doubt, a short stroll down River Street will reveal all kinds of delights. And, come Sunday morning, it’s off to brunch at Collins Quarter for some lovely French toast or tightly-packed omelet.

Austin, Texas

As Austin continues to evolve, so does its food scene. It’s a mecca for international delights, although their Mexican restaurants often receive top billing. You can easily take a tour around the globe, in terms of cuisine, when in Austin. For some of the freshest Naan on this side of heaven, it’s off to Tandoori Lounge + Bar. Then, there’s Taste of Ethiopia for some unique dishes and tea. For something a little stronger, try the coffee at Casa Colombia before munching on some delicious empanadas. You know where we’re going to go with this – into the battle for the title of best deep-dish pizza. In a sea of eateries fighting for the trophy, there’s one that consistently comes out on top – Pequod’s Pizza. It’s known for its carmelized crust, serving up a nice bit of crunch along with all that cheesy goodness. Of course, in such an illustrious city with such a rich history, you can’t hold yourself back with pizza only. There are countless top-shelf restaurants in town. You have The Purple Pig with its Mediterranean cuisine, Tanta Chicago for some of the freshest Peruvian cuisine, and Alla Vita – whose fresh pasta rivals that of Italy.
