Shawn was her ticket to stardom since she'd always wanted to be a movie star. He was told over and over again that if he didn't accept himself, the world wouldn't accept him. In order for their friendship to remain secret-free, he hoped to clear this up with Heidi. Even if she stopped responding to his messages, he wouldn't hide this from her.
