In fact, she found herself craving donuts and coffee and went to Dunkin Donuts. After that she visited her neighbors, a sweet family with Jeremy, a teenager. Taking out the trash had always been one of his favorite chores to help Lizzie with. Her hope was that he would agree to the installation of the repellents. "From the age of this furnace, its ducts might have been damaged over time." Lizzie follows the man outside, walking to the basement bulkhead when she sees reason in his logic. With an old pair of keys in hand, she prepared to open the door. Seeing what she had seen, she took a step back. No Locks Canva A padlock she and her kids had used to lock the bulkhead over five years ago was missing. "That's strange," she said. “There has always been a lock on this door." Before motioning for her to step back, she shared a glance with the repairman. His toolbag held a mallet and flashlight, and he promised to be there in a minute. He said, "I think he is a squatter living in your basement. The heat was directed into the basement by him.” All of a sudden, everything made sense. When Lizzie heard knocks under her living room, she thought they were footsteps. “Is it a good idea to contact the authorities?" the repairman asked. "No," Lizzie replied. He's gone.
