20 of the Largest Hotels In The World
There are lots of cool hotels with hundreds or even thousands of rooms, but some hotels are on a scale all their own! The hotels we are going to explore today all have over 3,500 rooms and are some of the largest in the world.
More than half of these hotels can be found on The Strip in Las Vegas, while several more are in Macau, a similar hotel and gaming strip in a special administrative region of China. Most of these hotels are part of large resorts that also have casinos, but a few will surprise you! Check out our list of the world’s largest hotels based on their number of rooms.
First World Hotel
The Guinness World Record holder for the largest hotel is First World Hotel & Plaza with 7,351 rooms. It is located at Resorts World Genting in Malaysia, an integrated mountaintop resort with six other hotels and multiple theme parks, casinos, and shopping malls. The hotel’s First World Plaza is home to shopping, dining, and an indoor theme park.
The Venetian Resort
One of only two hotels in the world with over 7,000 rooms, The Venetian Resort transports you from the glitter and lights of Las Vegas to the canals of Venice. Soak in the luxury and enjoy gondola rides, spa treatments, and one of their many pools, or take in a show. There is a casino on-site and premier opportunities for shopping, food, and nightlife.
MGM Grand Las Vegas
Another treasure of the Vegas Strip is MGM Grand Las Vegas which has a staggering 6,852 rooms. It was the largest hotel in the world when it opened, and also contains what was the world’s largest casino. The hotel’s facade includes a 50-ton, 45-foot tall lion statue, 11 statues of winged men, as well as multiple fountains and LED screens.
Abraj Al Bait, or The Clock Towers
Abraj Al Bait or The Clock Towers has 6,000 rooms and is a complex of seven hotels in Saudi Arabia located just 300 meters away from the Great Mosque of Mecca. The tallest of the hotel towers is 1,972 feet, making it the tallest building in Saudi Arabia and the sixth tallest in the world. The complex is home to a five-story shopping mall, an eight-story spire with a glass-covered base, and a scientific research center.
