From the coastal fields of California to the mountainous terrain of Montana, each destination offers its own unique floral beauty. Whether you’re seeking colorful tulips, delicate wildflowers, or lush garden displays, there’s no shortage of spectacular sights to enjoy.
Ennis Bluebonnets Festival, Texas
While you will find bluebonnets all over Texas, none compare to those in Ennis. The trails are open April 1 through 30, with the 2026 Festival taking place April 17 through 19.
Bluebonnets typically peak around the second to third week of April, though bloom experts at the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center note that 2026 may see a more variable display across Texas due to a dry fall and mild winter.
In Ennis itself, conditions are tracking on schedule, and the trails’ 40-plus miles of mapped driving and walking routes lined with these distinctive blue flowers with white tips are well worth the trip.
San Diego Japanese Friendship Garden, California
The San Diego Japanese Friendship Garden is a wonderful place to find blooms year-round, but in March, they have their annual Cherry Blossom Festival.
The 2026 festival runs March 12 through 15, celebrating the Japanese tradition of Hanami with a full lineup of cultural performances, community art installations, a new lantern wall display, and the beloved beer and sake garden.
There are many family-friendly activities for all ages throughout the four-day event.
Skagit Valley Tulip Festival, Washington
There are so many amazing tulips at this Washington festival that you will feel like you have been transported to the Netherlands! Running April 1 through 30, 2026, the Skagit Valley Tulip Festival spans five official display gardens across Skagit County, between Mount Vernon and La Conner.
Peak bloom typically falls during the second and third weeks of April. The surrounding area has several tulip gardens, and you will find many farms showcasing tulips and daffodils throughout the month.
