How to Get to Imsouane
Getting to Imsouane is simple. You can come through Agadir or Marrakesh. Some people use the souk to surf shuttles, others take local buses, and a lot of travelers rent a car or camper van and make the coastal drive.
It is around two and a half hours from Agadir and closer to four hours from Marrakesh if you stop in Essaouira. The closer you get, the quieter your surroundings becomes and it already starts to feel like a break from the rest of Morocco.
When you arrive, you will see that the town is full of surf houses, small guesthouses, and Airbnbs. Most places have board and wetsuit rentals and the water is lined with surf shops. Cafés and restaurants have beautiful ocean and surf views, and serve good Moroccan food, especially fresh fish.
Every morning the fishermen bring in their boats with so much fresh fish and it is worth trying anything made with the daily catch. Breakfast is also really good here. You can sit with a Berber omelet, toast with amlou, fresh bread, or mint tea while watching the waves roll in.
It is such a simple but perfect way to start the day.
