The Greatest Things To Do In New York This Spring
When the seasons change in New York, it feels like the entire world comes back to life. After a period of hibernation, neither the locals nor the visitors can tear themselves away from the beautiful parks, rooftop bars, and outdoor restaurants.
If you’re ready to soak up the city, we have a few ideas in mind. From cherry blossoms to baseball stadiums, let’s get out there together and make the most of the warming weather.
Check Out the Cherry Blossoms
Brooklyn Botanic Garden is a wonder any time of year. But, it’s particularly fascinating when the cherry blossoms come out towards the end of March. (It’s also heavenly when the roses start to bloom in late May/early June.)
Every evening from Tuesday, April 22 – Friday, April 25, there’s a wonderful event called Hanami Nights. This is a magical event where people gather on Cherry Esplanade to admire the trees when they’re all lit up. Then, you can stroll through the Japanese Hill-and-Pond Garden as the sun continues to set on a most spectacular day.
Savor Some Outdoor Dining
Now’s the best time to sit outside and enjoy some outdoor dining. When the city comes back to life, there’s no better time to people-watch and enjoy a meal. You can head down to West Village and enjoy the delights that someplace like St Tropez West Village can offer.
Alternatively, you can head to the Upper West Side for a rooftop cocktail at sunset. Places like Somewhere Nowhere NYC will be happy to show you some of the prettiest sunsets over the city skyline.
Walk Across the Brooklyn Bridge
You can see we’re looking forward to the longer days and nights. Walking across the Brooklyn Bridge, particularly at sunset is a truly unique experience.
If you head out of Lower Manhattan and make your way across the bridge, you have a wealth of options right there in DUMBO or South Street Seaport. Sit outside with a cocktail in hand, people-watch, and enjoy the fact that everybody’s able to sit outside again and enjoy the night.
Take a Ferry to Governor’s Island
If you have some time one afternoon, take a ferry ride to Governor’s Island. It can provide a nice escape from the hustle and bustle of the city – plus a unique vantage point of the skyline. You can rent a bike, walk around and enjoy the art installations, or just relax in a hammock with the city on one side and the Statue of Liberty on the other.
