Perry’s Victory & International Peace Monument Teach History

Nothing helps you understand history more than standing in the place where it happened. Perry’s Victory and International Peace Memorial commemorates the Battle of Lake Erie during the War of 1812. It is dedicated to the long-lasting peace between the US, Canada, and Britain since that time.

The monument itself rises high above the island and is one of the largest columns of its kind in the world.
