1. Ebike Tour on Antelope Island (Utah, USA)

One of my favorite biking experiences was the sunset e-bike tour across Antelope Island in Davis County, Utah. Offered by various companies, these tours typically span a few hours and showcase the island’s scenic beauty. Expect to see wildlife, stunning views of the Great Salt Lake, and picturesque mountain landscapes as you ride through rolling hills and open roads.

2. Hike to the Top of Mount Zas (Naxos, Greece)

On the beautiful island of Naxos, hiking to Mount Zas, the tallest point in the Cyclades, is a must. I tackled this hike around sunrise, adding a magical touch to the experience. Passing through hilltop churches, caves, and lush landscapes, this hike is enriched by its mythological significance as the known childhood home of Zeus. It’s a couple of hours long and well worth the drive from the island’s main town. 

3. Hike Through Mt. Etna (Sicily, Italy)

Hiking along Mount Etna’s volcanic region in Sicily offers a unique adventure. Experience walking along ridgelines, exploring volcanic caves, and tasting local foods and wines grown in volcanic soil. Be prepared for cold, windy conditions at the top, where snow and chilly temperatures await.

4. Surfing in Tamarindo (Costa Rica)

My first surf lesson at Tamarindo Beach in Costa Rica was unforgettable. The steady, manageable waves made it an ideal spot for beginners. After a few hours of learning basic skills, we were catching waves and enjoying the vibrant surf scene.

5. Biking and Trekking on Cat Ba Island (Vietnam)

Despite less-than-ideal weather, biking and trekking on Cat Ba Island was a highlight. After a bike ride through scenic hills, we embarked on a challenging trek to a stunning lookout point. The trek was muddy and steep, but the panoramic views of Ha Long Bay made it worthwhile.

6. Hike Up Koko Head Stairs (Oahu, Hawaii)

For a quick but intense workout, the Koko Head Stairs provide a steep, mile-long ascent with rewarding views of Oahu. The climb is physically demanding, but reaching the top, often in around 15-30 minutes (depending on your fitness ability), offers spectacular views. Prepare for an easier but awkward descent, and consider an early start to avoid crowds and heat.

7. Hike Up Harder Kulm (Interlaken, Switzerland)

For breathtaking views of Switzerland’s glacier lakes, the hike up Harder Kulm is a must. Although not extremely challenging, proper hiking shoes and water are essential. The climb is rewarded with magnificent views and a café where you can enjoy a refreshing drink before taking the cable car back down.

8. Paddleboard or Beachside Yoga in Oahu (Hawaii)

Oahu offers unique yoga experiences, from beachside classes to paddleboard yoga. Surrounded by stunning ocean views, palm trees, and vibrant sunsets, these classes provide a serene and picturesque environment. Check local community groups for donation-based classes.

9. Sunrise Masada Hike (Israel)

Haleakalā National Park offers a spectacular biking experience. After a sunrise shuttle to the park’s summit, you’ll descend through winding roads with panoramic views. The downhill ride from above the clouds to warm tropical climates is exhilarating and showcases some of the most stunning scenery in Hawaii. Be sure to wear warm layers at the top, with fewer layers ready for the bottom. 

11. Biking Around Mykonos Island (Greece)

12. Hike to the Koh Phi Phi Lookout (Thailand)

The hike to the Koh Phi Phi lookout is short but rewarding. Climbing steep stairs leads to several viewpoints with panoramic vistas of the island. The small fee to access the top is well worth it for the incredible views, but don’t forget bug spray for the trek.

13. Hike Up to Hang Múa (Vietnam)

The hike up to Hang Múa offers breathtaking views of Vietnam’s countryside. The 20-30 minute stair climb provides stunning views of rivers and mountains, especially during sunset. The hike is popular, so plan ahead to secure a great spot and enjoy the vibrant sunset colors.

14. Hike from Fira to Oia (Santorini, Greece)

The hike between Fira and Oia is a must-do for those visiting Santorini. This scenic trail along the coastline provides stunning views of the Aegean Sea, rugged cliffs, and traditional Greek architecture. Taking around three hours, it’s accessible for various fitness levels and ends in charming Oia, perfect for a Greek meal. (This hike can be completed starting in Oia and ending in Fira.) 

15. Hike Around Courthouse Butte and Bell Rock (Arizona, USA)

Sedona’s Courthouse Butte and Bell Rock trail offers a scenic loop around iconic red rock formations. This mostly flat 4-mile trail showcases the region’s stunning red rock colors and provides a great introduction to Sedona’s hiking trails. Be prepared for the heat, especially in summer.

16. Surfing at Waikiki Beach (Oahu, Hawaii)

Waikiki Beach, a renowned surfing destination in Honolulu, is perfect for beginners. The consistent waves and friendly local surf community make it an ideal spot to learn and improve your surfing skills. Surrounded by the Aloha spirit and iconic Diamond Head Crater, it’s a quintessential Hawaiian experience.

17. Skiing in Park City (Utah, USA)

Park City is a premier skiing destination that offers an unforgettable experience. As a first-time skier, I was intimidated by the surrounding landscape and mountain height, but after a few lessons, it was a pleasant experience on my own. The town is full of ski enthusiasts, with plenty of places to relax, dine, and rent equipment. It’s a fantastic spot for winter sports lovers.

18. Hike Down from Sunnegga (Zermatt, Switzerland)

Zermatt’s hike from Sunnegga offers incredible views of the Matterhorn and the surrounding Alps. Taking the cable car up and hiking down provides a rewarding descent through picturesque Swiss landscapes. 20. Hiking the Kalalau Trail (Kauai, Hawaii)

The Kalalau Trail is a challenging 22-mile hike along Kauai’s Na Pali Coast. This hike requires proper preparation, including permits and gear.
