Most of us love a good bargain. There’s a thrill in scoring those cheap, off-season flights from America to Europe, for example. And anytime we see those specials running on a place we’ve always wanted to cruise to, it’s usually a no-brainer.

But, sometimes, there are corners that we don’t want to cut. Splurging on that once-in-a-lifetime fairytale castle or a decadent food tour in a new city could be just the thing that lives on in your heart and mind for all of eternity. Together, let’s take a look at a few areas where we might want to roll out the red carpet for ourselves.

All-Inclusive Resorts

When you think about Disney, for example, you might be tempted to stay at a nearby hotel and just drive back and forth to the parks each day. It makes sense on paper and saves a lot of money – or does it? Overall, it might, but it also detracts from the simplicity and smoothness of your time. Staying at an all-inclusive resort means you’ll have easy access to onsite restaurants, bars, lounges, cafes, swimming pools, and – in the case of Disney – transportation to the parks. Whether you have Disney on the brain or a trip to the Caribbean, staying at an all-inclusive resort offers an all-encompassing promise of a smooth, easy, and stress-free vacation.

Early Check-In

We know someone who books her Airbnbs and hotel rooms a day in advance anytime she has an early arrival at her next destination. This way, she doesn’t have to wait for the dreaded 3 pm check-in. If you know you’re about to have a long journey, perhaps a red eye, and are arriving in town early, book your hotel room a day in advance so you can check in, wash up, and take a quick power nap anytime you please.

Late Check-Out

The same goes for a late check-out. What’s worse than having to rush through your morning only to feel like you’re being pushed out the door by housekeeping? Sometimes, when booking your reservation, there’s a dropdown option for a late checkout. Whenever you see that option, it’s going to take a bit of the edge off of what’s hopefully been a magnificent vacation.

Centrally Located Hotel

If you’re traveling to a big city, it may be tempting to stay somewhere on the outskirts for a cheaper rate. But, then, you have to contend with getting into the city each day, either by public transportation or a rental car. And, if you’re driving, the next issue is parking. Usually, it’s worth splurging on a more central location so you can breeze out the doors of the lobby every morning and get where you’re going with the greatest of ease.
