Braemar, Scotland
Autumn in Braemar captures the wild heart of the Highlands. Tucked into the Cairngorms, the mountains frame the village in shades of russet and gold, while the crisp air tastes of pine and woodsmoke.
There are so many walks to enjoy along the Linn of Dee while the river rushes beneath the colorful trees. You can also wander over to Balmoral Estate, where the royal connection still lingers in the quiet glens and forests that glow in the autumn light.
The village itself is small, but full of warmth. Stone cottages line the streets, and pubs flicker in the firelight while the wind rattles the windows.
