Glamping is one of the most glorious ways to get out in the great outdoors while holding on to a few creature comforts.
You can let some new memories in while keeping the bugs out – and maybe even indulge in a little air conditioning. If this is something that’s been on your mind for a while, here are 20 different sites to tickle your fancy.
1. The Crystalmarine Suite – Key West, FL
Let’s start somewhere with year-round warmth to welcome visitors. Florida has a wealth of glamping options, but this spot in Key West has to be the most magical on the list.
The Crystalmarine Suite is a glassfront boat docked about five minutes away from the shore, offering oodles of privacy and unrivaled access to the setting sun. Inside, you’ll enjoy making use of the kitchenette and en-suite bathroom with a rainfall shower.
2. Timberline Glamping – Jupiter, FL
Anytime Timberline comes up on your glamping explorations, it’s a pretty safe bet you’re in for a good time. All of their accommodations are beautiful, including deluxe safari tents for the whole family and smaller standard tents with luxurious queen-size beds.
You’ll have a refrigerator and other basic amenities within arm’s reach, as well as robust ceiling fans to circulate the air. In the winter, they include heaters; in the summer, they include air conditioners.
Most sites have their own fire pits, meaning many memories are in the making whenever you head to a Timberline site.
3. Westgate River Ranch Resort & Rodeo – Kissimmee, FL
If you’re Disney-bound, you might want to expand your adventures just outside Orlando to this beautiful little site loaded down with what looks like old caravan wagons.
Each site has its own deck, barbecue, private bathroom, and kitchenette. Since it’s Florida, you’ll be happy to know it’s also climate-controlled with space for up to six guests.
4. Dunya Camp – Summerville, GA
Let’s move up to Georgia. Dunya Camp is one of the most luxurious accommodations on this list. At a glance, you’ll wonder if all that is really encased in a tent – but it is!
Their South African-made safari tents blend the grandeur of regal caravans with the romance of a bygone era.
Nestled atop the hills of Georgia in an area that the Cherokee used to call the “enchanted land,” you’ll wonder if you’ve found heaven as you soak in your bathtub, lounge in the hammock, or tuck yourself into your full-size bed with soft linens.
5. Little Raccoon Key – Jekyll Island, GA
Let’s go to one more island, this time in Georgia. Little Raccoon Key is located on a small, uninhabited island a short boat ride away from the more popular Jekyll Island.
There’s only one tent on-site, so you’ll have the whole space to yourself. However, you won’t be alone! The staff make themselves available for chef-prepared meals and a pre-arrival grocery delivery.
Since there’s no electricity, the way you’ll preserve your food is through coolers with ice. But, that also means there’s no air conditioning, so you might want to make this a fall trip!
6. Asheville Glamping – Asheville, NC
Few places offer better panoramas of the great outdoors than Asheville. Asheville Glamping is highly popular, and for good reason.
They feature fairytale treehouses and domes with queen-size beds, air conditioning, picnic tables, and fire pits. Here, the bathhouses with showers and toilets are shared, but that’s a small price to pay for this small slice of heaven.
7. Collective Retreat – Governors Island, NY
Let’s head to New York! And, surprisingly, we won’t start in the mountains; we’ll start in the city!
A wonderful company with a few locations – like Timberline – called Collective Retreats has a gorgeous space on Governors Island, a small island beside lower Manhattan and Brooklyn.
Things are pretty posh here, with great views of the city, luxurious linens, and top-shelf toiletries. You’ll have to see what’s available when you’re ready to set sail because some offer ensuite bathrooms while others offer a shared space.
8. Firelight Camps – Ithaca, NY
Upstate New York has many mountainous retreats, but Firelight Camps takes the cake. Even though you’ll be nestled deep into the woods, you’re never more than a few miles from many of Ithaca’s greatest attractions.
Tents here feature hardwood floors, private balconies, rocking chairs, writers’ desks, and chairs. You’ll have to take a look at their selection when booking because only certain tents feature electricity and none of them have ensuite bathrooms. Still, their shared facilities are known to be quite clean and offer eco-friendly toiletries.
9. Terramore Outdoor Resort – Bar Harbor, ME
In the land of lighthouses, an authentic glamping experience is just the ticket. Terramore is part of the KOA conglomerate meaning the accommodations will not only be top-notch, but so will the grounds themselves.

15. Joyful Journeys – Moffat, CO
How about a night spent in a tipi or yurt? Sounds enchanting, right? Joyful Journeys is aptly named because it offers a lot through its joy and simplicity.
Their tipis and yurts aren’t quite as decked out as the other options on this list. But, they’re right next to a set of hot springs that are said to have special healing powers.
With Native-American-inspired stylings, this will truly feel like a step back in time as you enjoy a wonderful oasis that’s completely removed from the rigors of everyday life.
16. Capitol Reef Resort – Torrey, UT
While Westgate River Ranch in Kissimmee takes a nice stab at the caravan effect, Capitol Reef Resort knocks it out of the park. They’ve formed a gorgeous circle of authentic-looking caravans with views of Utah’s beautiful red rock cliffs.
Each caravan can sleep up to six people and includes WiFi, lighting, air conditioning, and gorgeous rustic furnishings. The bathrooms are shared, but you don’t mind at all as you slip back in time to the age of settlers.
17. Alila Ventana – Big Sur, CA
You know what they say about location, location, location. Here, you can relax in plush accommodations that are one with nature while enjoying easy access to Big Sur.
